[Lit-Mu Club]. 1952-1974.

In 1905 Mrs. Minna Reese Adamson, wife of Carrollton lawyer and U.S. Congressman W.C. Adamson, for whom Adamson Square is named, created the Lit-Mu Club from her home in Carrollton, Ga. Mr. Adamson was elected to Congress in 1896 and served for over twenty years. The purpose of the club was to study literature and music and to support the Public Library. In the years since its formation, the club has donated numerous books to the library, presented scholarships, and given dramatic readings at local schools. This collection consists of pamphlets concerning the Lit-Mu Club. The pamphlets list the club members for each year and give an overview of the various literary and musical compositions the club hoped to study.
